BUYERS TO FIND NEW GROWTH AT THE CMC, AN EXPANDED ARRAY OF RESOURCES
AND AN EXCITED OUTLOOK FOR 2012 AT LA FASHION MARKET SUMMER 12

Los Angeles (January 4, 2012) – The California Market Center (CMC) will be presenting thousands of Summer 2012 collections to buyers, Monday-Thursday, January 16 – 19, 2012, for Los Angeles Fashion Market, also open on Sunday, January 15, for Preview.  Resources will be featured throughout hundreds of the CMC's showrooms, including an expanded Gift & Home Showcase, SELECT Contemporary Tradeshow, TRANSIT LA Shoe Show, and FOCUS Apparel & Accessories Show.  Rounding out the Market experience are a series of special events, including a Runway Show, an Opening Night Reception, and a variety of hospitality and beauty perks for buyers and visitors.

The arrival of a new year has generated an air of excitement and renewed expectation throughout the building.  “The energy here is so fresh, and it feels amazing to start off the year in such an inspiring, positive environment,” says Mikelle Batchelder, West Coast Sales Representative for Tulle, located in Suite B405 on the growing, new AREA 4 showroom floor. “The building is filling up with lots of great lines and people, which we are extremely excited about.”

As noted by Tulle Showroom, there is a significant increase in new showrooms and lines debuting at the CMC this Market, including R & Em handbags, Traffic People, Solo Moda, Maison Close, Maya’z Jewelry, Ollipop, Cass & Co., Tristan, Marc Laurent, Capote, Loyal Arms Tees, Ivy Jane, Uncle Frank, Joseph Walker, Spanner, Tracy Negoshian, Belford, A for Apple, Color Fast Apparel, Real Kids Shades, Live Nation, Shade 55, Brooklyn Motors, Melrose International, Rosalie & Friends, Inc., Katherine’s Collection, ESC Trading, World Buyers, and many more.  Additionally, many existing showrooms at the CMC are expanding their showroom spaces to make room for new lines in 2012, including Patricia Marquis, Necessitees Apparel, and Metropolitan Kids, just to name a few.

In addition to the exciting growth occurring at the CMC, this Market celebrates the commencement of a second year for SELECT, the juried Contemporary Tradeshow that launched last January in the Fashion Theater, Main Lobby.  SELECT takes place concurrently with LA Fashion Market, Monday-Wednesday, January 16 – 18.  “We have an unmatched mix of apparel and accessories lined up for this upcoming January edition, including an expanded array of outstanding accessories exhibitors,” says Joanne Lee, Senior Vice President of the CMC.  

Noteworthy SELECT exhibitors include Sam Edelman, Deepa Gurnani, Enzo Angiolini, Inge Christopher, Whiting & Davis, Pour La Victoire, Magaschoni Apparel Group, Libby Edelman, Marcia Moran, ADA Handbags & Accessories, Azaara, Helen Kaminski, Hyde Collection, Beagle House NY Japanese brands, Boutique 9, Remi & Reid, Saint Vintage Designs, Minnie Rose, Monserat De Lucca, Streets Ahead, Dress To Kill, and many more.

Also featured Monday - Wednesday are FOCUS Apparel & Accessories Show and TRANSIT LA Shoe Show, both presented in the CMC's Penthouse, 13th floor.  TRANSIT is LA's renowned footwear tradeshow, boasting notable, new exhibitors for January 2012 that includes Charles David, Andrew Stevens, Aussie Dogs, Cat Footwear, Etienne Aigner, Jaine K. Designs, Rider Sandals, Sand by Saya, Avarcas, among others. Additionally, the show is known for its standard roster of regular exhibitors, including Jeffrey Campbell, Donald J Pliner, Report Signature, Vince Camuto, Matiko, Irregular Choice, Kelsi Dagger, DV by Dolce Vita, Lovely People, Steve Madden, Frye, Seychelles, BC Footwear, and BCBGeneration.  Located in the A-wing of the Penthouse across from TRANSIT is the FOCUS showcase, offering a well-rounded mix of merchandise from emerging labels looking to increase brand exposure, including Mystree, Mon Bijou, Monoreno, Espiral AM & PM, Briella Accessories, Ashley Michaelsen, Hourglass Lilly, Land of Apparel, Bring It Up, and many more.

Beyond the array of exceptional apparel and accessories brands presented during LA Fashion Market, buyers will encounter an expanded Gift, Home Décor and Interiors Showcase in the C-wings of floors 9 and 12, significantly increasing the variety of lifestyle product available at the CMC.  Joining the 40,000 square foot CMA Showroom on 13C, the enhanced Showcase not only reinforces the CMC as Los Angeles’ thriving destination for gifts, holiday product and home furnishings, in addition to fashion and accessories, but will provide limitless creative  merchandising opportunities for all buyers.

In celebration of this new growth, the CMC will kick off a variety of special events this Market, including a Fashion Show produced by veteran show producer James Campbell, on Monday, January 16 at 12:00pm in the Penthouse's 13th floor, A-wing.  Additionally, buyers and industry guests are invited to an Opening Night Party hosted by the CMC that Monday evening from 5:30pm- 7:00pm in the Main Lobby, featuring complimentary cocktails, hors d'oeuvres and live DJ, by sponsors Trader Vic's LA Live, IZZE, DAMA Tequila, Dry Soda, and Lite Pom.

Summer 2012 Los Angeles Fashion Market takes place Monday-Thursday, January 16 – 19, 2012 at the California Market Center. Market hours are 9:00am- 6:00pm daily, with Sunday open for Preview by appointment. The next LA Fashion Market, which will be featuring Fall 2012, is scheduled to take place Monday – Thursday, March 12 – 15, 2012.
