Los Angeles (October 17, 2012) - The Spring 2013 Los Angeles Fashion Market took place October 15-18, 2012 at the California Market Center (CMC).  Brisk, steady traffic and new accounts were the predominant reports from many of the CMC's showrooms and exhibitors of the Market's featured tradeshows, including SELECT Contemporary Tradeshow, FOCUS Apparel & Accessories Show, and TRANSIT LA Shoe Show. “We thought SELECT was a great option for introducing our European lines, one from the UK, and one from Spain, to the LA Market,” said Myriam Bolet, owner of Simone Propone Showroom. “We love the California Market Center. It has lots of traffic, and we feel our contemporary lines fit better here than at other local tradeshows. We are excited to be here.”

In the Penthouse, 13th floor, TRANSIT exhibitors also reported seeing a steady stream of buyers. “We have had a great show. Day two was amazing,” said Hime, Sales Executive for Steve Madden, Madden Girl, Betsey Johnson and Big Buddha Shoes. “We have been opening some new accounts, and seeing all of our returning accounts. TRANSIT is great for us because a lot of people come to the show, and we can get a lot done. We can see 20-30 accounts per day here at TRANSIT, whereas if we go on the road we can only visit five or six accounts. It is extremely beneficial and productive for us to be here.”

TRANSIT Shoe Show was also held Monday-Wednesday.  As the renowned footwear show running in conjunction with LA Fashion Market, the showcase was geared toward the fashion boutique buyers of Market, as well as footwear retailers of all sizes.  Notable labels included Vince Camuto, Splendid, The Frye Company, Jessica Simpson, Matisse, Sketchers, Chinese Laundry, Report, Calvin Klein, Steve Madden, DV by Dolce Vita, MIA, Betsey Johnson, Kenneth Cole Reaction, BCBGeneration, Matiko, Seychelles, Rocket Dog, Lovely People, Kelsi Dagger, CC Corso Como, Blowfish Malibu, Chinese Laundry, NYLA Shoes, 80%20, Gee Wawa, and Irregular Choice, among many more.
