LOS ANGELES, CA – How do we waste less, save more, and produce responsibly? Fashiondex and LA Textile have partnered again to present the third Sustainable Fashion Forum, a one-day conference focusing on processes, practices, and solutions for fashion businesses of any scale.

As well as exploring tangible steps brands can take towards sustainability and ethical responsibility, the Sustainable Fashion Forum will be carbon-neutral this year reducing the environmental impact of the event. The footprint from travel from all the attendees, speakers, and organizers will be measured and offset, and the impacts of the signage, catering, and waste will be reduced.

“A sustainable business is as ethical as it is profitable. As a community, we need to continue to make time to take a critical look at sourcing, production, and supply chains, and determine how we will ensure transparency and responsibility at every level, including the events we produce,” says Fashiondex Director Max Andrews.

“The CMC team is dedicated to staying at the forefront of the apparel manufacturing industry while exploring and sharing ways we can collectively offset our global impact. We are currently implementing new technologies such as digital video walls for signage and have completely eliminated single-use plastic show badges. By deepening our strategic partnerships with green companies like Fashiondex and advancing our knowledge and sustainable practices, we hope to lessen the impact LA Textile and the fashion industry has on the environment, now and in the future,” says Becca Dawson, CMC Senior Marketing Manager.

Topics at the Forum will include sustainability and production solutions, certifications and standards, social and environmental responsibility, transportation, and much more.

Among the industry-leading speakers are Director of Sustainability at Loomstate, Katina Boutis; Study NY and Re:Source Founder, Tara St James; Manager of Sustainability for Allbirds, Hana Kajimura; Founder of Nature USA, Mike Farid; Director of Sustainability and Sourcing for Outerknown, Megan Stoneburner Azim; CEO of DL1961 Premium Denim, Zahra Ahmed; President and CEO of WRAP, Avedis Seferian; and the Co-Founder of Lefty Production Co., Marta Miller.

The Sustainable Fashion Forum will take place on Thursday, October 3rd, from 8:30 am to 5:30 pm at the California Market Center’s Fashion Theater, 110 East 9th Street, Los Angeles, CA.
