Dorothy began her apparel-industry career working with fabric importers and designer showrooms in New York City’s garment district. During her career, she has covered sustainability in other industries and brought this experience to California Apparel News upon joining the 80-year-old news outlet.

Karri Ann Frerichs, Circular Fashion LA / SPC | Karri has worked in the fashion industry (both entrepreneurially and for major corporations like Zara and Bebe) since 2005 in all sectors including retail management, wholesale distribution, apparel manufacturing, product development and e-commerce. She has also been a university professor of the Business of Fashion since 2010 for City College San Francisco, Academy of Art University and, now, Woodbury University in Burbank, Calif. Using both her breadth of experience and disgruntlement for the massive problems caused by the fashion industry (including pollution, waste, over-consumption and labor exploitation), she founded Circular Fashion L.A. in 2019 to develop more circular solutions for our wardrobing needs. Karri is an Ellen MacArthur Foundation Circular Economy Pioneer, as well as the volunteer organizer of the Circular Economy Club Los Angeles Chapter—a multi-industrial group of changemakers and business owners working to advance the circular economy in Los Angeles and beyond.

Emmanuelle Rienda, Ethical Luxury Group / Vegan Fashion Week® | Emmanuelle Rienda is a French Creative Director, Ethical Luxury Expert, and Founder of Vegan Fashion Week. With over a decade at the intersection of fashion, culture, and art, she has shaped the global ethical fashion movement across 30+ countries, generating 3,000+ features in top media including Vogue, WWD, and NY Times. Rocky Deriane, Nexus Moda | Rocky Deriane is a creative visionary with a global reach. A CDG member, she has designed costumes for film and styled A-list clients.
